This is obviously a shortened version of the Shakespeare classic, to fit the Fringe format, but one that gives the viewer a very good taste of the work as a whole. Ryan Levis delivers the king's speeches with force and conviction. He also understands the Elizabethan language well enough to make it comprehensible for a modern audience. I really enjoyed the opening scene between the two bishops, a scene that, if done badly, can destroy the mood, but Andrew Wade was superb as the Archbishop of Canterbury. It was charming to see a young woman of the appropriate age play the princess Catherine of France--she and her hirsute lady in waiting were a scream.
