This was my first show of the Fringe this year, and I really enjoyed it. It's a great story, with just enough 'classic folk tale' to set the tone, but with unexpected depth and originality. Being somewhat deaf I had trouble hearing the words to the songs over the music at times, but I loved the back and forth between singing, narrating, and acting - it kept it fresh and interesting and always seemed to fit the mood. The makeup was superbly macabre. The ending might be a little bit cheesy for some, but it is a folk tale after all, so there has to be a moral!
I would say definitely give this one a go. It's unique and interesting, a perfectly Fringey kind of thing!
